This butterfly is the female Common Mormon. The wonderful thing is that this female butterfly has three forms; one resembling the male; the second form 'stichius' resembling the Common Rose and the third form 'romulus' mimicking the Crimson Rose. This photo is of the 'romulus' form (mimic of Crimson Rose). See the amazing resemblance to the Crimson Rose elsewhere in this album. You can easily discern the inedible Roses which have red bodies from the edible Mormons which have black bodies.
