Your sharing is indeed encouraging and please stop being so formal – “sorry” ?!

Yes, life would be so boring if everything went on smoothly…

I guess it’s like other obstacles, one learns to live with them, and sometimes even forget about them!

I too have “planned” for a life with the diabetes, hypertension, cardiac disease and asthma that my mother had…have been extraordinarily lucky that it hasn’t happened….yet!

So…here’s wishing you both the very best as you welcome (possibly long-term) medication into your lives.

maybe you can get a volume discount on the lipid drugs….
Had I been practicing I would have got the supply for fre!

Past 5 years we have been exercising and minding our diets – that is what has kept the things on hold till now. Right now I can do much more physical exercise than I was able ever able to do. We manage to go to the Gym for 20 to 25 days a month.

Given the family histories we have known that this will happen since forever… and have planned for eventualities.

And yes I do intend to live up to 85 atleast 😉

I am lucky that though I too had parents who both had high lipid profiles, heart disease and hyperetension, since my husband had his myocardial infarct, we both took our exercise seriously….and luckily, I have not developed any of the problems. But he has to watch things…it can be difficult for each of you to worry about the other.

The new drugs are pretty good and don’t seem to have too many side-effects. It takes a little effort to get used to the fact that one will have to take daily medication, but one HAS to get used to it! Also, there is a feeling of ” oh I am not young anymore”….but that’s not correct as I have seen several instances of children with high lipid levels and triglyerides while volunteering.

As I told Swati…keep up with the regular (moderate should do) exercise, that has a LOT Of benefits across the board.

Here’s wishing you well-managed good health…and peace of mind.

I am posting because we did go through this ourselves.
