1) With an SLR you shoot at full or half strength anyways so the dimmer is not really useful.

2) Lower strengths the colors have a distinct magenta cast – never noticed/cared because most of my work was black and white.

Prochromlin23 are the way to go if you have an SLR – but they are way too bright for my 5700 even at half strength.
