A flock of Great White Pelicans takes off
25th Jan, 2010: This can be termed as “The day when nothing much happened”. We left CEDO, Nakhtrana at 6:00 am and reached Rann Riders , Dasada at 12:00 a distance of 350km.
Rann Riders is a very touristy kind of setup, but the first thing which struck me was the room had only 1 plug point and the other minus for the room was lack of a basic cupboard/wardrobe in the room. Other than that the place is very nice and the food is great!! Aasim was thrilled to eat Non-Veg after sooooo long, well after 5 days really. The people at the resort are very nice and helpful.
Evening we went to a place called Nava Talav, Kharaghoda which had a lot of Flamingoes., both lesser as well as greater. Also got some the first glimpse of the fabled Wild Ass. There were plenty of other birds around the lake but there also were some tourist who persistently went too close to the birds and scared them away :-/
We did not wait here too long and came back to a nice hearty dinner and a good night’s sleep…

Long-legged Buzzard - Buteo rufinus
