Swarna – the golden one!

Swarna

Yes, thats her name and she literally personifies it with her skin tone, but thats not all there is to her – she is 30+ a kathak Bharatnatyam dancer and – hold your breath – a geek by profession. Though (un?)fortunately not much into FOSS and I am not going to push my luck in trying to convert her.

She is one of those rare type of women who knows herself and not afraid to reach out to get what she wants, neither is she afraid of letting the world know what she is. Amid all this she still manages to be non-aggressive and almost merging with the crowd.

Yeah, yeah! I know the question and I have to admit that I am lucky – I saw her in a shopping mall and mentioned her to Swati, next thing I see is that Swati is talking to her – the rest, to lamely borrow a phrase, is history.

She is not from Nagpur but will be around for a year… and has agreed to be my muse for that period of time.

More?! Search and you shall find….

  • Not Kathak! Bharatnatyam!!!

    • Yes Ma’am, sorry Ma’am, corrected it Ma’am!!!

      BTW – whats the difference? :P <g,d&r>>

      • Kathakali is a dance form that acts out a story IIRC, whereas Bharatnatyam is dance of India.

  • she looks quite the hindu goddess with that chain.

    • She *is* a goddess! but

Beware! what you say, next thing you will know that there is a fatwa (or whatever the hindu equivalent) against all of us =))

  • It’s a classy bodyscape…

  • gorgeous! lets see more 🙂

so basically ur wife picked her up 4 u in a mall?! wow, nice wife!

    • wow, nice wife!
      You bet – I am 😉

  • Very well taken picture. And this is a BIG compliment as it comes from some one who is not a fan of nude pictures.

    • And this is a BIG compliment
Thanks, I am honoured and that makes it the second time from you :)

I will give myself a pat on the back and say that I have truely succeeded in what I wanted with these pictures.

BUT I will also ask you the second time my previous question.

Why are you not a fan of nude pictures? Are they rude or do you percieve them as exploitative?

      • I think it is because of the way most people look at those pictures. While I believe that female body is one of the most beautiful creation of mother nature, I do not see people around me appreciating it in a right style. I have seen people (notice, I am not saying only men) pass crude comments over the nude sculptures by Michelangelo. I mean, for a sexually repressed society that we are, I can imagine that we cannot help but notice nudity. However, while I tried to admire the intricate work that the artist had rendered to the veins, the skin texture, and the facial expressions, people just looked at and commented on the private parts. I was disgusted. Plus, most nude models are looked down upon in the middle class society. I think that is very unfair. Someone who is confident enough to pose for a classy picture should get as much respect (if not more) as the lanky woman walking down the ramp in skimpy clothes. I am blabbering, right? In a nutshell, it is because I feel most of us cannot look at nude images in a dignified manner. That is why when I see your tasteful pictures I am highly impressed.

        • Thanks! While I can understand what you are saying about other people’s perceptions – I was wondering about your aversion… If I were to extend your line of thinking based on the above two comments (and I am being presumptive here) then it would mean that you want every woman should be in a purdah!!

I know it is tough being a woman in the current society scenario BUT are you not just re-inforcing the same point of view as the rest?

At the risk of sounding didactic condescending, I can assure you that there are enough men and women who think differently to ultimately make a difference

Swati just looked over the shoulder and declared that I am blabbering and that I should come for dinner – I better stop 🙂

          • You have a point, I am talking like the Taliban here. And, I am shocked to discover that. 🙂

Although, I do not believe that women should not dress the way they want to. And extending that, I do not think that women should not pose whatever they want to. I would never ask someone to not do a nude if they really wanted to. However, I cannot get the idea, that some look at it as a derogatory act, out of my head. All the same, I am glad we had this conversation. May be my head needs some tweaking.

            • I cannot get the idea, that some look at it as a derogatory act, out of my head.
I can’t bear this dichotomy of ethics either. Someday we will sit face to face IRL and talk a lot about lot of things :)

              • And IRL I want to ask her a question.

                • Actually, let us (at least try to) meet IRL. Over the years of blogging here, I have come to admire you two as a couple, for a LOT of reasons.

So, while T can help me open my mind, I’ll try and get some tips from Swati as well. 🙂

                  • I’ll try and get some tips from Swati as well
Lady! the best tip I can give you is don’t get any tips from Swati she is dangerous!!

                  • Yes, meet we must. Hop over to Nagpur anytime you wish. There are very convinient overight trains/morning -evening flight from Delhi to Nagpur.
