Solo thought

In the dichotomy between your heart and brain it is my rationale and love which are the victims

  • umm..if both are victims then what ultimately rules?

    • Irrationality and hatred 🙁

The dichotomy should end for harmony to be there !!

      • Irrationality and hatred
Monsieur, if you let that happen, what would happen to mortals like me? Do you think it’s possible to achieve eternal harmony unless you are someone like Dalai Lama? To me, detachment seems the way to achieve harmony but can we do that when we still have to live and survive in material world?
I know I don’t make sense. I just wish that I can just take away my friend’s worries and put a smile on his face. Take care. 🙂

        • Mademoiselle, I would like to simplify it before you jump to conclusions.

Picture this – there is a dilemma about 2+2=4. Now someone dear to you comes and convinces you a with rational logic (See these two fingers here and two fingers here and count) that 2+2 is indeed equal to 4 and cannot be anything else…

Your mind agrees to it and you say yes!! BUT in your heart you don’t want 2+2 to be 4.

In such a situation what do most people do?

          1) They sulk and keep wishing that 2+2 was not 4
          2) They go further and resent the person who told them 2+2 was 4

Now step back and consider the dilemma of the person who told you that 2+2 was 4, further more compound it with the fact that he may not know/understand whats your grouse OR why you are dissatisfied.

This I guess explains my previous statement very clearly. The solution in my opinion is not to accept the dichotomy of heart and mind and I guess what to choose is an obvious choice.

That said – it is easier said than done 🙂

          • Now step back and consider the dilemma of the person
            They sulk and keep wishing

Exactly my feelings right now!! Do you understand the dilemma of the person when she doesn’t find the your reply something like this – ‘Preeti, thank you for enlightening me. You are super smart and super considerate person in whole wide world. I bow to thy.’ 😉
[I understand what you mean/feel when you have to accept that you are ultimately left with obvious choices…]
            Take care.
