OMG!

There seems to be a definite problem – Aasim again took scissors and cut his hair today.

I have to give up everything and spend more time with him. We have to talk to his teachers as well. He feels awful when people make fun of him, and his classmates did make fun of him today BUT still he did it… …

Have to find out what he is trying to rebel against? Or is this just attention seeking? Or boredom – It cannot be boredom today as throughout the day he was playing with Dinesh, he talked with the programmers, played with the cat, we talked in the afternoon… …

Of late though I have indeed noticed that he just runs away from the Lab if I enter….

Despite the fact that he has not been ever told by me to go out… …

I guess he wants more time with me. More time with Swati… …

  • hope its just attention seeking..

    • forgot to mention, i did this too when i was a kid.. but that was just curiosity to hear the scissors slice through my hair.. and i’ve always wanted my hair short. ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Actually on day one we too thought that it was some curiosity and boredom – the repeat episode worries me a bit…

  • Don’t let him know that you are worried about this. Once his attention is diverted he will forget scissors .

    • That he used scissors is the least of my worries. It is why he used it not once but twice in two days.

      • Just perfecting his artwork I suppose. Dont comment on it. Give him a good haircut and tell him it suits him better this way.

This reminds me of the time we bought a Doctor’s set for Aryaman with very real-like stethoscope. But all he was interested in was the scissors. Doctor banane chale the, banna chahta hai Naavi.

        • Give him a good haircut and tell him it suits him better this way.

The way he has cut, it will mean making him bald… ๐Ÿ™

Anyway everyone is OK with his style now.

          • Bald and happy.

It is likely that he got upset with the teasing he got in school and the second shot with the scissors was intended to remedy matters. Better tell him his hair looks good or he may want to have yet another go at it. You may want to give him a crew cut if it is as bad as to make you so unhappy.
Cheer up! Your little boys just trying to be independant.

            • Re: Bald and happy.

No his hairstyle does not make me unhappy. Like I wrote before he and everyone around him are perfectly happy with his hairstyle. For a crew-cut I will have to wait atleast 10-15 days!! He has a hairless furrow running right between his head and some more embelishments here and there ๐Ÿ˜€

Also teachers told Swati that there has been a rash of similar incidents in the school with at times parents/relatives at the recieving end!!

Now talk about being sleepless ….

              • Re: Bald and happy.

Cud talking to parents whose children had similar behaviour in his school help ?

  • Does he read Calvin? He reminds of Calvin.

    • Yep! his current hairstyle is like Calvin as is his imagination… ….
