Real world love!!

Her Eyes

I have a lamp.
A flame to give me light.
I have the stars,
the moon, the sun.
But unless I look into her eyes
all is black
As black as night
Bhartrhari – 7th Century AD

Just as I was about to post this early morning today Swati appeared and demanded “I had asked you to shut Aqua Guard and change the containers about half an hour ago”

I replied “Huh! had you?”

“Yes! And you had said yes”

“Oops! Sorreee :-)” I got up to do the needful, she informed that it had already been done… …

Since then we have been working together throughout the day in and about the house and office. It has been our usual satisfying day … …

Oh! for the record she forgot that she had to cook lunch till almost too late 😉

  • Tariq, those lines are haunting. Can you tell me where can I find more on Bhartrhari?

    • All I know about Bhartrhari comes from a book I bought in 1994 titled “Untamed Heart” published by Rupa, The translation is done by Pritish Nandy with lovely water colors on each page by Samir Mondal.

If you like this then you will also like Satsai written by Bihari most probably around the same time

Here is another one from Bhartrhari

Once upon a time, you would agree
I was you and you were me
I have no idea what has happened since
Now, you are you and I am me.
