Memories of her!!

Swati

I found this picture of her yesterday taken by me almost 13 years ago at a friend’s farmhouse. She was 21 I was 22 ….

The most hilarious part is that these pics were taken to show to the prospective grooms which her parents were searching. We were great friends (well already more than friends πŸ˜‰ but had never considered marriage as an option at all!

In-fact we were on a rather self destructive path hoping to go down in a blaze of glory abiding by the wishes of our parents. Both of us were heart broken from our respective *first really serious* love affairs. Our belief in love was shaken to the core “Whats love got to do with it” was the theme song for those days.

We did not think we were in love with each other – we were just satifying a need, hmmm… we still are we still are!!

How it all began is another warm memory which perhaps I will write some other day and then may be someday I will write how we decided to get married and then fell in love. No! my mind is not playing tricks on the sequence of events. For the interested here is another picture from that series

  • I think thats pretty much how most people get together too! I know several friends that are steady, because they were there for the other person, when they needed *someone* by their side. Nice thoughts to reminisce about, aye?! :/

BTW: I think you were doing a gross injustice to her, by chopping off her left hand in the pic. I mean, if *I* were to be a part of some arranged-marriage-picture-looking-bride-selecting fiasco, I’d not be impressed by a pic which didn’t show the prospective bride’s left hand πŸ™‚ Me thinks it is all part of a serious ploy to get her, while all along, pretending to be a friend ;/ <j/k>

    • Well the photo is my fav be cause it perfectly captures the glow and look in her eyes which only one thing can impart. (Who me a hypocrit?)

Yep! the photo was rejected by her dad citing the same reason BUT I all along suspected that it was because it made her daughter look too much of a woman!! Will ask some day πŸ˜‰

What was selected was those that looked like “Missing Persons” mug shots – yuck!!

As for the ploy to get her – wait for the prelude of the story – spoiler – No! no spoilers …

      • Mmmyeah, I think the another picture link in your original post captures what you describe better, but then again, thats just me. And yup, I hate those mug shot type pix too.

  • Your wife looks amazing…and from what you say she sounds amazing.
must say you are on lucky chap..
your marriage kinda instills a lot of faith in us sceptics.

    • Whoa! what happened to the cute kid who I knew as Noella? Not that I am really complaining about what I see currently πŸ˜‰

Thanks!! Yes – I am a lucky man, but let me confide that we still do fight a lot… Can you believe we almost broke off in the second year of our marriage. We still laugh when we think about it!
