The front end should remain the same (subject and body text). A the very least, it should be able to doa regular form post with http auth.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Plus a few shortcuts. For example, I have a mechanism on my pages that expands {{http://livejournal.com/~tariquesani&#124;&#124;Tarique}} to &lt;/p&gt;
